Bought this to charge an Indian cell phone within the US. The cell phone adaptor had round pins that went into this power plug adaptor and plugging it into the wall started charging up the cell phone. I have not tried the other features so I cant speak for those.

I purchased it in Sep-2009 and used it in London, Berlin, Munich, and Paris without any problem. I charged my Verizon Global phone, IPOD, and notbook. Verizon Global phone comes with 3 different adapters, I never use them.
you just need to make sure your device AC-to-DC adapter is capable of 110AC/220AC for UK, Germany, and Frence. All three countries use 220AC.
